Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are a zero-emissions alternative to traditional gasoline and diesel fueled vehicles that offer improved fuel efficiency, particularly in the heavy-duty segment. The technology is promising, but has long suffered due to lack of available fueling stations and the high cost of the hydrogen fuel. That is about to change. The ever-improving performance and reductions in cost for on-site renewable generation has unlocked the reality of distributed power-to-gas, in particular using renewable energy to produce hydrogen onsite using electrolysis. This is the key building block upon which Beyond6 has built its hydrogen fueling system, and will be a key to the growth of the heavy-duty fuel-cell vehicle market.
