Operating Systems Analyst

Overview

We are looking for an experienced operating systems analyst to monitor and maintain our POS system and provide customer support while working collaboratively with third party vendors.

Project management and effective communication are important skills. To succeed in this role, you should also be a good problem-solver with sharp, analytical thinking.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Manage POS system including troubleshooting and real time client resolution
  • Ensure transaction data is handled, transferred or processed according to each department’s reporting requirements
  • Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot and report on POS-specific communications, equipment and site health (ie. connectivity, alarms, disk space, bandwidth, firewall)
  • Direct and oversee POS-specific equipment selection process, implementation, and management
  • Participate in strategic planning and goal-setting for POS-specific implementations and customer support
  • Analyze business requirements and customer needs
  • Research methods to improve operations (POS/Operational infrastructure) and reduce costs including upgrades and/or introduction of hardware and software
  • Create and maintain data map(s) of current hardware and software infrastructure including but not limited to warranty period, software update, obsolescence, and others
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations (PCI)
  • Assist with the activation of proprietary cards and card inventory management
  • Act as main point of contact for vendors of POS related hardware and software
  • Manage third party contractors for POS related issues
  • Prepare complete documentation for POS system administration and maintenance activities
  • Provide support for security cameras and associated hardware
  • Support use of CMMS (eMaintenance)
  • Support all remote PLC Monitoring
Requirements
  • Previous experience as an operations supervisor or similar role
  • Hands-on experience implementing operational processes
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Proven user training and support skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Knowledge of operational principles and policies
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of PCI compliance requirements
